Title of Works : Abstraction (抽象) –  

It is an abstract expression for two Chinese characters “抽象 (Abstraction) ” based on creativity. Through dissembling, replacing and re-combing their forms, it is created into an abstract work of art with a certain aesthetic image.
Firstly, the strokes of “由 ” at the right of character “抽” are hidden, and four voids of “ 由 ” are filled with colors to make it have an appearance with “cold abstraction” rational painting language characteristics, thus implying the abstract art itself, and especially the existing “abundant” connotation in the expression of “formal language” .Then, its Chinese character component“Tishou” is deducted into “full and gradually changing oblique lines ” and “fine black and deformed straight lines”to make “comparison forming, structure echoing and picture balance ”. However, “X” at the lower part of the work is taken from the initial of the above Chinese character’s Pinyin “Xiang .象”, which represents the character “Xiang .象” and also the X mark that implies denial as one of the necessary factors in art innovation (X represents denial), and meanwhile it is “shaped” into a casual handwriting with a slightly “emotional” hot abstract feature, and a vague (deliberately indistinct)“bird that flies towards the upper right”, which tallies with the characteristics of high freedom and ease based on “emotion” expressed by “hot abstraction” to an extent. Thereby , “X” is endowed with triple images to make the work become a modern abstract work of art integrating cold and hot abstract elements and multiple pointing. “Abstraction” is a kind of existence that is difficult to be defined .
It is not limited to where its vitality and life lie
It can become the source of enlightenment and the basis of exploration.

这是基于创意对中文“抽象”二字进行的抽象表达。通过拆解和替换重组它们的形态,使其成为具有某种审美意象的抽象艺术作品。首先隐去“抽”字右部“由”之笔画,再将色彩充填于“由”的四个虚空,使其呈现带有“冷抽象”理性绘画语言特征的面貌,以此寓意抽象艺术本身、尤其在“形式语言”表现上存在的“丰富多彩”的内涵。然后将其“提手旁”演绎为“饱满渐变的斜线”和“细黑变形的直线”,以使“形成对比、结构呼应和画面平衡”。而作品下部的“X”,取自上述中文“象”字汉语拼音“Xiang”的首写字母,它既代表“象”字,也表示否定是艺术创新必要因素之一的叉号(X代表否定),同时它被“塑造”为略有“情绪性”热抽象特征的随性手写体和隐约(刻意模糊)的“一只朝右上方展翅飞翔的鸟”,它某种程度地契合“热抽象”表现所基于“情绪”的高度自由与自在的特征。从而,赋予“X”以三重意象并使作品成为聚合冷、热抽象元素和多重指向的现代抽象艺术作品。

“抽象”,一种难以界定的存在, 非限定为其活力与生命所在。由此,其方能成为启发之源和探索之基。
